“If forests don’t survive, neither will we”

Our landmark State of the Planet Address calls for action to protect our world. The most recent event focused on forests and their vital role in fighting climate change

07 February 2024

Our fourth State of the Planet Address, held in London in October 2023, was a call to action to protect the world’s forests.

Former Colombian president Juan Manuel Santos and Indigenous activist Txai Suruí were among the speakers who explained the vital role that forests play in the health of the planet – and the urgent need to protect them.

Our short film includes highlights from the event, held at the Frameless immersive art venue and hosted by WWF-UK chief executive Tanya Steele (pictured above).

“Forests are our greatest natural ally to tackle climate change,” Tanya told attendees. “Yet we are still bearing witness to the destruction and conversion of forests worldwide.”

To help protect the planet’s forests, add your voice to ours to ask our leaders to keep their environmental promises.
