The UK’s forests are unique, home to hundreds of species from huge ancient oaks down to minuscule insects.
When we asked you to send in your forest photos we received stunning images of life among the trees.
Our favourite 10 images are showcased below, with comments from WWF commissioning editor Suzie Hubbard.
Our winning photographer will be sent a copy of Wildlife Photographer Of The Year: Portfolio 33.
Thank you to everyone who submitted a photo. We hope you continue to enjoy wild walks with your cameras!

Suzie says: “I love the ethereal light in this woodland scene – it feels ghostly but exciting. The light is flat so you get a chance to concentrate on the structure of the branches and the different directions they like to travel.”](https://myaction.wwf.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Luke_Hall.jpg)
