Many of us are making efforts to act more sustainably at home – but what about at work? Given we spend so much of our lives at work, it makes sense to be eco-conscious there, too.

Businesses have an enormous role to play in protecting nature, but introducing nature-friendly changes at work can be challenging, whether you’re an employee or an employer. That’s why we’ve created a new guide to help you start those conversations.

Nature’s Workforce is a guide to starting conversations about nature at work and helping your business become more sustainable. It’s a step-by-step process, from understanding the nature crisis and the role that business can play, to making an action plan.

We created the guide after listening to feedback from people who’d attended workplace screenings of the Save Our Wild Isles business films around the country last year. Many of them said they were worried about their company’s impact on nature – but didn’t know how to address it.

The good news is that many of the ways you can boost biodiversity and reduce your carbon footprint are also great for team-building, such as using company volunteer days to help out with local nature projects.

There are lots of ways that a business can start to reduce its impact, both big and small. The journey for every organisation will look different, as will the actions each of you take.

Whatever your place in the workforce, you have the power to shape your business – to ask questions, start conversations, make plans and start putting nature on the agenda.
